“Biggest gathering of pipe bands in the Southern Hemisphere right here in Toti”
Since 1963, the Sapphire Coast has been kitted out in tartan once a year as The Highland Gathering takes over. Around 10 000 visitors descend on Amanzimtoti for the biggest gathering of pipe bands in the southern hemisphere. The sound of bagpipes from around 24 bands fills the air as around 100 Scottish dancers entertain the crowds. There are also 160 flea market stalls, food stalls, car dealership stands, and children’s entertainment.
